Digital voice recorders capture hours of audio with a device the size of a cell phone.

Friday, October 20th, 2006

Digital Voice RecordersAlthough it may be nothing new, digital voice recorders have surpassed the popularity of traditional cassette tape recorders. You may not have had this problem lately, but traditional cassette tape recorders were notorious for eating tapes and making a big mess. Reliability wasn’t guaranteed. Most compact cassette tapes were incapable of recording for more than 45 minutes!

Digital voice recorders don’t use any tape at all. None! I can’t even begin to tell you how nice that is. Digital voice recorders are also capable of recording audio for hours. Our highest-end recorder can record audio for up to 65 hours! That equals out to be about 86 cassette tapes. The audio doesn’t degrade over time either. Traditional tapes could only be used a couple of times before the audio worsened.

Our digital voice recorders are also very compact, the largest being only 3.4-inches tall. They can easily fit into a purse or pocket. The recorded data can later be transferred to a computer for storage or for editing. Feel free to stop by and take a look for yourself.

I have used them myself and can assure you that you will not be disappointed.

Top-secret shredders are designed to shred the most sensitive documents.

Thursday, September 7th, 2006

The government doesn’t use just any shredder when it comes to shredding sensitive and top-secret documents. They use the highest-security shredders available on the market. The National Security Agency (NSA) has come up with a list of shredders that they consider to be appropriate for the shredding of top-secret documents.

These shredders are referred to as security level six shredders and shred paper down to 1mm x 4-5mm. The particles are almost as small as dust.

Security Level 6 Shredded Particles

You can find a complete description on security level six shredders by looking at our paper shredder guide.

You can find a list of our high-security paper shredders by going here. Is your shredder on the list? Take a look and see.

Although security level six shredders are nice to have, they are not necessary for everyone. Most ID thieves won’t bother looking at shredded material. They may piece together strip-cut documents, but will almost always avoid cross-cut documents. Thieves usually don’t want to put forth the effort to piece documents back together, and will usually move on to another location for something un-shredded.

ABC Office hits ten years online and avoids the Dot-bomb.

Thursday, July 13th, 2006

ABC OfficeABC Office has successfully navigated the Internet waters to become one of the most successful Internet-based online office equipment dealers. Many of you may not know the history of ABC Office and how the Web site was created in 1996.

In the late 1990’s, the Internet began to grow in popularity. The Internet was becoming a phenomenal success. Internet-based companies were popping up everywhere and fortunes were being made. ABC Office launched their Web site in 1996. The Web site focused on office automation equipment and transitioned from a traditional brick-and-mortar company to an Internet business.

Around the year 2000, many of the companies began to fail. This is often referred to as the Dot-bomb. Many Internet companies, such as Kozmo.com, Etoys.com and Pets.com declared bankruptcy. Confidence in the Internet began to wane.

While many companies were failing, ABC Office began to grow. Avoiding the fate of other Dot.com companies, ABC Office applied traditional brick-and-mortar strategies to their virtual business. This included real customer service representatives, a full warehouse and a service department.

ABC Office now sells to businesses around the world. To see a full line of products, click here.

The Max-Bantam counts paper with speed and precision.

Monday, June 12th, 2006

Max Bantam Paper CounterThere are many paper counters out there designed to count large stacks of paper quickly and efficiently. Many of the paper counters out there measure the thickness of a stack of paper and give a precise “estimate” of the total number of sheets. I figured this must be one of the quickest and most economical ways to count paper.

ABC Office eventually came across the Max-Bantom paper counter. This paper counter counts ever single sheet, rather than measure the thickness of the stack. This gives you a precise total every time. I counted a stack of 388 sheets of paper four times, and the counter came up with 388 every time.

The Max-Bantom was easy to set up and use. I was surprised to find that batch counting could be done with the push of a few buttons. I decided to set the machine up for batch counting every 20 sheets. After 20 sheets, the counter placed a tab in the stack of paper.

This paper counter is certainly worth looking at if you are in the market for a fast paper counter that can keep precise count of paper inventory. We are in the process of getting the video ready for the Web, but you are certainly more than welcome to request a live video demo. Our customer service reps will get a camera and show you every little detail over the Internet.

You can sign up for the live video demo by going here.
