Stop Counterfeit Money Dead In Its Tracks!

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

Counterfeit money costs businesses millions of dollars a year. Once you have a counterfeit bill in your possession, you’re pretty much stuck with it. You can’t legally use it and banks won’t take it.

There are a couple of ways you can help prevent yourself from falling victim to counterfeit money. ABC Office has created a very detailed and comprehensive guide to help you cut down the loosing merchandise to counterfeit money.

Once you know what to look out for, counterfeit money can be easy to track down. Several common methods of counterfeiting can be caught without the use of a machine, simply by being better educated. Other methods of counterfeiting aren’t as easy to catch by the naked eye, but are still easy to catch with the use of a counterfeit detector.

If you are in a retail location, visually inspecting money may not be practical. For the sake of speed, and increased accuracy, we recommend using a counterfeit detector. They aren’t expensive, with some models ringing in at only $10.

You can find our new counterfeit detection guide here. We hope you will be able to take something from this and help save yourself or your business save money later down the road. Enjoy!

Shinwoo SB1000 Replaced By The PLUS Banking Systems P-624

Friday, December 11th, 2009

The popular Shinwoo SB1000 bill discriminator has been discontinued and replaced by the PLUS Banking Systems P-624 from Klopp. This is pretty important news if you are in the market for a bill discriminator.

Bill discriminators are far less common than a standard bill counter. This is because they not only count bills, but they can distinguish the difference between different denominations. Most bill counters cannot do this. The new PLUS Banking Systems P-624 can count bills and give you the quantity and monetary value of everything counted.

Not only does the PLUS Banking Systems P-624 count bills, but it also has counterfeit detection built in. If the P-624 detects a counterfeit bill, it will quickly let you know. This is a great feature to have as counterfeit money is a problem plaguing many cities throughout the United States. The software on the P-624 can be updated to accommodate future currency changes.

Both the Shinwoo SB1000 and the P-624 are very similar in the way they operate. Time permitting, you should stop by our site and take a look at this new machine. You can find the PLUS Banking Systems P-624 here.

Top 7 Best Coin Counters & Sorters

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

Coin counters and sorters are probably some of the most timesaving pieces of equipment that we sell. Manually counting coins not only takes time, but also can lead to inaccurate tabulations and wasted money paying someone to count loose change. Coin counters can do what takes a human an hour in less than 5 minutes, often faster depending on the model.

Finding a good coin counter is important. Although all coin counters and sorters ultimately do the same thing, many have different features. A few things you may want to look for are:

Coin vs. Value – It is helpful to have a counter that not only tells you the total number of coins, but the value of those coins.

Batch Counting – This allows you to specify a total number of coins or money value to count before the machine stops.

Hopper Capacity – This is how many coins your machine can hold for counting. The higher the hopper capacity, the less often you will have to re-fill the machine.

Tubing & Bagging – Many coin counters put counted coins into bins. Many people want these coins put in tubes or bags. Not all coin counters can do this. Keep an eye out for this feature if you need it.

Denominations – This is the value of the coins you are counting. Be sure your counter can handle all the coins you need to count. Most counters can handle pennies up to quarters, but not all can handle dollar coins. Some coin counters can handle tokens as well.

Here is a list of some of our most popular coin counters offered today:

New Coin Rolling, Sorting & Counting Machine – ABC110

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

There is a new option for counting, sorting and rolling coins here at ABC Office. This is the new model ABC110 coin counter. This new machine is both affordable and accurate. It features a hopper capable of holding up to 1600 coins (dimes) and counts coins at a speed of up to 270 coins a minute. We are the manufacturers of this new machine and can service / support it.

Basically you dump the coins into the machine and let it do the rest. There are two different holding trays you can use with this machine. The first option is to use coin drawers that hold pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters. These drawers can then be used for bagging the coins.

The second option is coin tubes. These tubes are used in place of the drawers and can be used for rolling coins into shotgun style tubes. The ABC110 comes with both the drawers and the tube sorters. Stop by ABC Office today and check out this new coin counter. You can find it by clicking here.

Count Money And Verify It At The Same Time

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

Money counters are a great invention. They take a stack of money and count it in a matter of seconds (literally). They are efficient, accurate and take up little space. You will commonly find bill counters in banks, but it is not uncommon to find them in retail stores and other businesses as well.

While using a money counter saves a lot of time, counterfeit money can still be an issue. Many money counters now include built-in counterfeit detectors. An example of this is the ABC-1150 Ultra.

The ABC-1150 Ultra includes ultraviolet (UV) and magnetic (MG) detection. As each bill is run through the money counter, it scans each bill individually. If for any reason ultraviolet properties or magnetic ink are not detected on the bill, it will immediately stop and alert you.

Getting a bill counter with counterfeit detection measures built in used to be significantly more expensive than a standard bill counter. This is no longer the case. Bill counters with counterfeit detection are now very affordable.

The ABC-1150 Ultra is on sale for a limited time at $179. This includes an external LED display. Stop by and check it out.

Count Money Faster & More Efficiently With Semacon Money Counters

Monday, November 10th, 2008

Within the last few months we have added a new line of money counters. These money counters are from Semacon, who is well known throughout the industry for their quality machines. In total, we will be adding five new machines.

Unlike many comparable money counters that are made in China, Semacon bill counters are made in Japan under the strictest quality control measures. Semacon has built a name for itself for its durable money handling equipment capable of taking a beating and lasting for years.

New Semacon products include bill counters, coin counters, coin sorters and coin crimpers. These new Semacon products are great for use in a retail store, bank, church or other organization. Having personally used these new products, I can vouch for their reliability. They are also very easy to set up, which is a big plus for me.

Many of the Semacon bill counters we have added to our site feature counterfeit detection measures, capable of detecting the most complex counterfeited money. The Semacon S-1400 even includes an air filter designed to filter out dust and particles found in dirty bills. This is ideal considering how dirty many bills can be, especially since many bills contain traces of narcotics.

Our most recent addition is Semacon’s new S-520 coin counter. The new S-520 coin counter sorts and counts coins with great accuracy. It also includes the ability to batch count and has an easy-to-use interface. It is capable of counting up to 450 coins per minute and can be used by banks.

Stop by ABC Office and take a look at our new Semacon money counters now!

ABC Office has just added a new counterfeit bill detector to its Web site.

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

ABC 100 Money CountersThis month we just added a new counterfeit bill detector to our Web site. This detector goes by the model number ABC 100. This compact money detector is very easy to use and is pretty lightweight. I played around with it this week, tried detecting some money and took a few pictures that you can see on the product page.  This detector uses both Ultraviolet (UV) and Watermark (MK) technology. The UV portion of the detector is turned on by use of a switch. The UV light then illuminates the bill being scanned. A bright yellow strip will be illuminated if the bill is legitimate.

The WM detector uses a fluorescent-powered backlight that makes it easy to see the watermark on a legitimate bill. I tried several different bills on the ABC 100 and it easily illuminated the presidential faces on the U.S. currency. I would recommend checking out this new counterfeit detector when you have time.
