Although it may be nothing new, digital voice recorders have surpassed the popularity of traditional cassette tape recorders. You may not have had this problem lately, but traditional cassette tape recorders were notorious for eating tapes and making a big mess. Reliability wasn’t guaranteed. Most compact cassette tapes were incapable of recording for more than 45 minutes!

Digital voice recorders don’t use any tape at all. None! I can’t even begin to tell you how nice that is. Digital voice recorders are also capable of recording audio for hours.
